Photocopy of a typescript of an interview conducted by Margaret Cawood from the Confederate Air Force Oral History Program. Compton describes his youth in Indiana, his entry into the US Army, his military service in Indiana and Hawaii, and his transfer to the Army Air Corps. He was one of the B-17 pilots that landed at Pearl Harbor during the Japanese attack on December 7, 1941.
